NY Sweet Corn Trap Network Report 9.17.24

Only 14 sites reported this week. European corn borer (ECB)-E was detected at two sites, and ECB-Z was found at one site. Corn earworm (CEW) was reported at 11 sites, with all of these sites having counts high enough to require a 3, 4, 5, or 6-day spray schedule (see chart below). Both CEW and FAW numbers continued to decline this week. However, the graph below shows a significant increase in ECB-Z, which is attributable to just one site, the Hurley location, where 224 moths were trapped this week.
