WNY Sweet Corn Trap Network Report 6.19.12

European corn borer numbers are in the zero to low single digits range this week.  Corn earworm are being caught in low numbers at several locations, with substantial catches in the Baldwinsville trap this week.  Single fall armyworm moths were caught in Lockport and Baldwinsville.  Western bean cutworm traps were put up this week at many locations, but traps were up early in Lockport, where one moth was caught.

European corn borer and common armyworm larvae are actively feeding.  Scout whorl and emerging tassel stage corn for signs of armyworm and ECB feeding. The treatment threshold at the tassel emergence stage is 15% plants with damage or live larvae.

Correction to the table below:  Kirkville should be 2 ECB-E, 1 ECB-Z, and 2 CEW.  No traps for FAW and WBC at this point.

Trap catches for the week of 6/12-19/12
