Twenty-seven sites reported this week. European corn borer (ECB)-E was caught at 4 sites and ECB-Z was also caught at 11 sites. Corn earworm was caught at 26 sites, with 24 sites showing counts high enough to warrant a 3, 4, 5, or 6-day spray schedule (refer to the table below). Fall armyworm (FAW) was caught at 6 sites, and Western bean cutworm (WBC) was caught at 4 sites.
CEW eggs are usually very difficult to scout for but at sites with high pressure you can probably find eggs on the silks (see photos below).
