Twenty-four sites reported this week. European corn borer (ECB)-E was caught at 1 site and ECB-Z was also caught at 3 sites. Corn earworm was caught at 22 sites, with 20 sites showing counts high enough to warrant a 3, 4, 5, or 6-day spray schedule (refer to the table below).  Fall armyworm (FAW) was caught at 7 sites, and Western bean cutworm (WBC) was caught at 2 sites.

The graph below shows the average trap catch for each moth species. CEW began to decline this week and FAW has been low throughout the season. Last time we had such a low FAW flight was in 2013. Next week will be the last blog post as most corn at the trap locations is either harvested or has drying silk.
